How to Copy an Authorization Request

Using the New Hampshire MMIS Health Enterprise Portal, you can copy a saved or submitted authorization request associated with your provider ID to use as a template, edit the information, and then save or submit it.

On some panels on this page, you can click Add to display additional fields for adding values. Already existing values (if any) are listed in a table. Click a column heading to sort the table according to that information. You can click a table row to see fields for editing values.

If you open a panel with an action bar and add or edit information, before continuing, on the panel's action bar, click Save.

Optionally, you can:

To copy an authorization request

  1. On the Authorizations menu, click View/Edit Authorization Request.
  2. Search for and view the authorization request.
  3. At the bottom of the Submit Authorization Request page, click Copy.
  4. On the new Submit Authorization Request page, edit any fields as needed, for example the patient's name or dates of service, etc.
  5. Edit any fields when needed, for example, the patient's name or dates of service, etc.

Note: The Notes section of the SA is not copied.

  6. Click Save or click Submit, according to the following:
    • Save - Choose this option if you do not complete the authorization request for submittal.

NH MMIS stores the incomplete authorization request in a temporary database, assigns a "Work in Process" status, and assigns a unique ID number. The assigned ID is displayed near the top of the Basic Service Authorization Info tab. The default to search for, edit, and submit a saved authorization request is 15 days. After 15 days, a saved authorization request is deleted from the temporary database.

    • Submit - Choose this option when you have completed the authorization request.

The New Hampshire MMIS Health Enterprise Portal validates the submitted authorization request before committing it to the permanent database. If it cannot be validated, it is displayed with an error notification at top, and all errors are highlighted. You can correct the errors and click Submit again, or you can click Save the SA with errors to correct and re-submit at a later date.

NH MMIS stores the authorization request in the permanent database, assigns a "Provider Submitted" SA status, and assigns a unique SA ID number. The assigned SA ID is displayed near the top of the Basic Service Authorization Info tab. NH MMIS also deletes the SA from the temporary database if it was previously saved but not submitted.

  7. If you chose to submit the SA request, on the Service Authorization Request page, do one of the following:
    • To print a copy of the submission page for your records, click Print Submission Page.

Note: You must attach this page to the front of any additional documentation that is required for a submitted SA request. There is no need to include a copy of the SA request, itself. You may also want to later view the submitted SA and print a copy of the SA for your records using your Web browser's printing function.

    • If you have additional SAs to submit, click Submit Another SA and the Submit Authorization Request page is displayed.
    • To return to the Authorizations main page, click SA Main Page.
